I normally don't write testimonials, but I am profoundly happy with my experiences with this company. Now I will express my gratitude by sharing the experience.
 This is my second time ordering from Canadian Aquatics.  The first time all my fish arrived in perfect condition, all but one L114.  The fish must have been stressed by its long travels and it's fins were badly damaged; it didn't survive through the night. Charles gladly gave me a credit compensation on this second order even  though I didn't have any photographic evidence.  He offered the credit based on my word alone, I didn't expect nor ask for this compensation.  So months later I make this new order and Charles completely honors the credit he promised.
 
It took us awhile to finalize a date and time to send out the fish.  My cargo holding for westjet here in ottawa has hours that didn't fit well with my schedule, but Charles was very helpful and patient.
He managed to find a sameday flight; the fish left from B.C. and landed in Ottawa the same day.  Not only was this less stressful for the fish, but for me too because it worked within my schedule.
 
I ordered 6 exotic plecos, and got all of them alive and in perfect condition.  The fish were packaged very professionally that insure a safe travel.
 
Charles, and Canadian Aquatics, sincerely care about their customers and products.

Hello folks!

I am compelled to, once again, write a short feedback for the great service I received from Charles of Canadian Aquatics. I made my second order of truly special fishes from Charles. This time, a high level of expectation was in place because of an awesome experience on my previous order. Well, he made it truly special...
I picked up the package at the airport and soon inspected to see that they are all OK. I opened the package and...voila! I received L25s that are 2" bigger than expected with very nice coloration - all 7 pointers! I peeked through the other thick bag just to make sure the guy in it is alive. I felt him move so off to my merry way home.
I got home and I unwrapped the other bag...man! I swear pictures and videos will never compare to seeing this dude in person!
I think I know what it is that sets Canadian Aquatics apart. It's all about their sincere desire to educate, deliver excellent service, and promote trust by way of good customer relationships.

I recently ordered some freshwater fish from Canadian Aquatics for delivery by air to me in my small town.  I ordered fifty cardinal tetras and several larger fish.
The ordering process went smoothly with communication by e-mail and prompt responses to my questions about the order.  The fish arrived air freight and on opening the insulated box I found that meticulous care had gone into packing the fish, all double bagged with no leaks.
Although I ordered the fish sight unseen I was very pleased with how the fish looked when they arrived.  The fish were healthy, a good size, nice colour, good fins etc.  
All of the fish are doing great in my tank right now.
Even after paying for shipping by air I saved a lot of money compared to purchasing the fish locally, if the fish had even been available locally.
I will be buying from Canadian Aquatics again.  It is obvious from the quality of the fish I received and from the care they put into preparing my order that these guys are true hobbyists.  Thank you very much for my order Charles.

My very first order from Canadian Aquatics arrived in Calgary,Alberta today. I live 1.5hrs from Calgary and the fish all made it home in good shape. The Fahaka already ate a minnow and my Mbu is still checking out his surroundings. The Fire eel was huge and seems to be a little shy in his new 450 gallon home. The Polypterus lapradei are also big and are trying to find some real estate in the 450 as well. A big thanks goes out to Canadian Aquatics and their top notch packaging, service and awesome fish. Thanks again Charles for the AMAZING sakura! (flower rays!!!).  They are truly stunning rays, and were eating within a couple of days – I have imported fish myself directly from Colombia, and after receiving such delicate rays in amazing shape from Charles, I can honestly say that right now I won’t ever import rays myself from Colombia again.  Both rays were eating frozen market prawns and squid within two weeks of being in my tanks, which is unheard of with flower rays!  It took me weeks with my other sakura to get them onto frozen food, and yet these two from Charles were on frozen within weeks.  The packing job was second to none, with both rays triple bagged and still full of air – a much better job than any of the exporters I have dealt with in the past, and another reason that I will be dealing exclusively with Canadian Aquatics for all my future stingrays.  Again, amazing looking fish, and I can only say thanks!

The shipping boxes were very well packed and orders were bagged according to each group-buy participant which made distribution easy for me and much less stressful for the livestock. Needless to say, the livestock and dry-goods were all received in great condition. 

The invertebrates ordered, in particular, were packed carefully and look fantastic!

Hi Charles I received the Rummynose this afternoon..... I am very impressed they all survived... in the past I ordered Rummynose from one of the sponserers on this site... nice guy but 1/3 of the fish didnt survive the trip... that was the whole reason I went with 50 thinking that several of them wouldnt make it.... I will now have to find a home for twenty or so LOL I am sure that wont be a problem they are very nice//// as I have about 35 or so in 150 G Discus tank already...

I was very nervous about ordering fish online, and shipping by air for the first time. Living in Saskatchewan does not afford the opportunity for buying exotic fish locally. Dealing with Pat and Charles was an extremely pleasant and easy transaction, they are extremely knowledgable breeders as well as hobbyists themselves. They were happy to answer any of my many questions and the packing & shipping were great.

As someone who breeds and ships snails, shrimp and fish I have pretty high expectations. My expectations were exceeded and their communication through the whole process was above and beyond any breeders I've dealt with in the past. Also as a seasoned shipper I did expect a DOA or two as from time to time it does happen, I'm happy to report I ordered over 100 fish/shrimp and there was not one single DOA in the parcel, that alone speaks volumes to me.

Having recently got back into Tropheus after a few years away from the hobby, I ordered a group of Tropheus Ilangi from Charles.   I didn’t know Charles except from his reputation from the various forums and I sent him a PM asking him a few questions about Tropheus and he immediately called me and gave me some good advice as to how to set up my tank properly for Tropheus.   I didn’t ask him about buying any fish as I didn’t have my tank yet.   Not having any running tanks and wanting to get this tank up and running as soon as possible, Charles even gave me his foam filter media from his AC110 to seed my tank.   That helped speed things up tremendously.   My tank was fully cycled within a couple of weeks and I was all set.   Charles then put in my order which was flown into Vancouver in the morning.   Unfortunately I had to work and was unable to meet at the airport to pick up the order.   No problem.   Charles said he could take keep my fish for me for the day until after work (all at my own risk of course).   When I got to his place he had a few orders that he was taking care of for their owners.   A few tanks and 5 gallon buckets were set up so that the fish could be taken out of their bags and put into some good water and aerated.   Anyways, a long story short, I got my order and have been very happy with them ever since.   I could buy fish anywhere, but Charles has always been extremely helpful and offers help and his vast experience to anyone that asks.   I highly recommend him both as a vendor and as a fellow hobbyist.

Patrick was an awesome person to deal with. First he went out of his way to email me answers to all of the questions I had asked on the corals he had for sale. Then when we did the exchange (I sent him some corals and cash, and he sent me come corals and FW plants in return) he was very trustworthy!

I sent him my package first, and he let me know what condition the corals were in etc as soon as they arrived there, all the way from here in Nova Scotia! And very shortly afterwards, he had sent me my exchange package back in return, and he let me know right away that it had been sent out, and even gave me the tracking number!

I received my shipment in excellent condition, all was alive and well, and very well packaged. He even used breathable bags to ship my corals in, which made the packaging more efficient as more could fit in one shipping envelope, as space was not taken up by air in the bags. Plus , he was extra generous, for he even included some free clippings of plants that he knew I had wanted, but which I could not afford at the time.

So, all in all, Patrick is very trustworthy, honest, takes extra time and care in shipping and packaging, and very helpful and nice! I would deal with him again anytime :)
